Chamomile Gatorade (for poets): this may seem like a strange question, but Chamomile Gatorade (for poets): have you noticed anything unusual about jason lately?
Chamomile Gatorade (for poets): he referred to us as "family", in a manner that seemed joking, but it was an odd thing to say either way Chamomile Gatorade (for poets): you know him better than i do. i feel as though it's best to keep my distance from him. Chamomile Gatorade (for poets): anyway Chamomile Gatorade (for poets): i thought you might want to know.
I... think he meant it as a joke, but... clearly he was expecting me to understand the reference, and when I didn't, his behavior seemed... odd... oh. So... you... you're not leaving Shrike, are you?
[Awkwardly fiddles with the silver ring around his neck]
I'd pretty much made my peace knowing that Jason did not want t'be married. And he hates the idea of family.
I started wearing a ring for him not 'cause I ever expected to propose, but - to promise I was committed. That he wasn't just some temporary side piece. I never thought he'd... accept it.
I-- know all the 'marriage' stuff has been kinda weird, and you're not into it, and... I was trying to plan something to break it to you but my cakes are still crap - I didn't expect Jason to try and reach out first??
He... I think that's his way of trying to connect with the family. Even though he's been an ass to everyone and he's probably still gonna be an ass, but a different kind of ass?
Shrike, obviously. I told her first. Then Dad, 'cause he hates Jason the most, and 'cause Jason challenged him to a fight, so they're probably gonna stab each other a bunch.
It came up with Sis, and then I was trying to figure out how to tell you... I'm a much better cook than a baker.
It's not something I... think about for myself. You, on the other hand, make it seem perfectly natural. Which it is, but... anyway, I don't want you to think you can't tell me things, Nero. I'm sorry if I've made it difficult for you.
Day 340
Chamomile Gatorade (for poets): have you noticed anything unusual about jason lately?

Re: Day 340
[opens mouth, closes it, clearly not sure what to say at first]
Knowing and... believing in... your devotion... he'd be a fool not to accept it eventually. And... he knows that, probably.
[takes a breath and lets it out]
Congratulations, again.
