We just ended up similar for different reasons. Some that are alike, even. You were alone and treated poorly, it makes sense to end up with...certain complexes.
[he frowns, because it's true..... but those were complicated reasons, where the root of it fell mainly at the feet of Vergil's abandonment. And he didn't want to keep blaming him. It felt SO OLD at this point, it was aggravating that it'd still affect him in ways he didn't expect.]
...I hate feeling like this. I wanna be over it already.
[He does recognise that key difference, since he knows that sort of jealousy and rejection well.]
Well it's both in a way. I wouldn't be able to handle any more, I already don't know how to be a father to you.
...But I am glad that I have you. That you have put up with me and given me a chance. You're a good son and I...wouldn't need anything else. Or anyone else. If we had always been together.

Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
What is it?
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
[Sullenly muttering,]
It's not fair that Nova wants you to teach her katana. She already has a dad. She's always had both her parents, and they've always loved her.
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
[Or like as polite as Vergil can be.]
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
[His face scrunches up, too embarrassed to go down that line of thinking.]
She's nice, and smart, and-- she doesn't have all the dumb baggage. It's easy to like her more.

Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
I just... felt jealous, okay? It's stupid. I know it's stupid.
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
[He just mumbles it because it's extremely embarrassing. But.]
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
Your genes suck, old man.

You're not allowed t'be anyone else's dad.
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
Certainly no adoptions will be happening. But are you sure you don't want a real younger sibling?
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
Don't even joke. I think I deserve your undivided attention, father.
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
I know.
Anyway you don't have to worry, you have my undivided parenting attention. I wouldn't have the capacity for any more.
[One is way more than enough, how does he deal even with that.]
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
I don't wanna hear that. I wanna hear I'm the only kid you'd want.

Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
Does-- does that mean if you knew about me... you would've stayed? Instead of all that tower stuff?
