You're following the Man in Red's trail, and it's led you to the Order's library: books have been strewn haphazardly, like he was trying to look something up in a hurry but didn't know where to find it. How does that make any sense? A guy drops in to assassinate a holy man in broad daylight, then scurries around to do research? Idly, you flip through some of the pages with Blue Rose's muzzle.
"Didn't figure this guy for a bookworm..."
A sudden presence appears behind you and on reflex, you spin and point your gun at the intruder... only to realize it's an armour-clad knight, standing in utter silence. His armour is distinctly of Order design: white, shining plates with gold accents, curved horns and a shield fashioned like angelic wings.
You relax. "That's one way to get yourself shot," you tell him. As he regards you, you tuck your arm away from his gaze and holster Blue Rose, returning to your investation "So, you after this guy too, or just here to catch some demons?"
He says nothing. Walks towards you as you skim over the books, instead. You spare another glance, muttering, "Silent type, huh? Well that's... annoying."
He points the lance at your back. And, without a word, thrusts it with killing intent-- only for you to catch the tip of his weapon between the pages of a book. Ha. "So much for friendly banter!"
All pretense lost, he swings for you, scattering papers and smashing furniture in the process as you dodge his attacks, unholstering Red Queen in one smooth motion as you do so - pointing it at him before revving her handle. "If you want a fight, then come on!"
As expected, there's no reply. Only an eerie blue glow from behind his helmet visor, and a roar as he charges you. More and more knights in the same armour join in, and you dispatch them all - no point in hiding the Devil Bringer anymore with these guys. When the final knight finally falls, his armour clatters to the ground and... it's hollow. The horned helmet rolls to your feet, and you pick it up.
"Empty..."
Suddenly, the suit begins to glow - and disappears into light. The helmet too. You dust your hands off and stand. "A demon - it possessed the Order's armour... that's not a good sign." The mystery of what's going on just deepens.
