[jason huffs half a laugh, at the thought that maybe he doesn't deserve this. it's hard to imagine, when all he can think of is that what he doesn't deserve is someone telling him that he's right.
he leans in to that touch, and closes his eyes to savor it.]
Can't believe you're still sayin' that, after I chased the wife off over coffee.
[he doesn't know what to say to that, and so he accepts the subject change,]
Been your turn the whole time.
[better that than dwelling on disappointing nero again, maybe they can recover some of the mood from before his dumb ass decided to make things weird over coffee]
[He leans up to steal a kiss, a cheeky smile on his lips. He almost doesn't want it to be Jason's turn with the memories, knowing what kind of abuse it could dredge up...]
but it's not clear what exactly is happening when jason hits play. it starts out dark, and then... green. Slowly Jason rises, and if Nero's seen her, he'd recognize Talon's mother standing over him in the pool. When he breaks the surface, there's an indescribable yell of rage from Jason, and for a brief second... Talia looks frightened.
Before she grabs him, and runs, without explaining anything.
they run to a cliffside, where she shoves a bag into his hands, and then him over the cliff into the water below, telling him to get out of there as fast as he can.
it's obvious-- Jason's much younger in this memory. Not much older than he was in the death memory, as a matter of fact.
but if he ever looks back at Jason, he'll notice that... he's gone pale, and his face is blank, like he's lost deep in the memory.
[Nero... blinks, not entirely sure what happened. He doesn't know Talon's mom, he doesn't know that green pool of water or why it made Jason like-- that.
Re: LATER,
I wish you weren't.
You deserve better. I'll keep saying that as long as I need to. You do.
Re: LATER,
[he pauses for a long time, and finally, glances away, admitting quietly,]
... I just wish he'd trust me.
Re: LATER,
Even I know that, and I'm an idiot.
[Nero swallows the lump in his throat, and strokes Jason's hair]
If he can't, then he doesn't deserve you.
Re: LATER,
he leans in to that touch, and closes his eyes to savor it.]
Can't believe you're still sayin' that, after I chased the wife off over coffee.
[but his tone is a little more relaxed anyway]
Re: LATER,
It's not a big deal. You've always made things right, Jason... even without me asking.
Anyone who really knows you knows you've got a good heart.
Re: LATER,
[he looks over at him, now opening his eyes.
his hand smoothes over his cheek, fingertips dancing along skin.]
Anyway. We don't gotta think about this anymore. It's over.
Re: LATER,
Come home with me.
[He trusts Jason. He wants Jason. Please.]
Re: LATER,
[he looks him in the eyes, searching.
thinking.
hesitating, before,]
I can't.
Re: LATER,
You can. You just aren't ready to believe it yet.
[He breathes out the pent-up air inside him.]
...I guess it's my turn.
Re: LATER,
Been your turn the whole time.
[better that than dwelling on disappointing nero again, maybe they can recover some of the mood from before his dumb ass decided to make things weird over coffee]
Re: LATER,
That is, some sexy floating demons try to seduce him and he is having none of it. He will not be swayed by mysterious rusalka, thank you.]
Re: LATER,
There's my pure boy. Not swayed by the question of "can I fuck it?"
Re: LATER,
Who would wanna fuck some random floating girls anyway??
Re: LATER,
Re: LATER,
Re: LATER,
[and he leans in to kiss his neck lightly]
Re: LATER,
I've-- got real discerning taste, y'know.
Re: LATER,
Much more discerning.
Re: LATER,
Plus - you couldn't tell, but that toad? Smelled like rank garbage.
Re: LATER,
[he teases lightly, shifting to get a little more comfortable.]
I'm dating the most discerning guy in Tokyo-F. Aren't I lucky.
Re: LATER,
[He leans up to steal a kiss, a cheeky smile on his lips. He almost doesn't want it to be Jason's turn with the memories, knowing what kind of abuse it could dredge up...]
I don't fall for just anyone.
Re: LATER,
[he says, a hint of possessiveness in his voice.]
Anyway, my turn.
Re: LATER,
[Nero tightens his hold on Jason just a bit more, as though bracing Jason for what he might remember. Just in case it's bad again.]
All right.
Re: LATER,

He looks over to Jason's face, concerned.]
What was that...?
