I think his boyfriend's mostly to blame, for that. What with the way he interrogates him relentlessly about his feelings. It's terrifying, even for me - and I'm an open book.
Only if you're prepared for him to pry about your life, your hobbies, your dreams for the future, all your relationships and what you hope for them... and that's just the primer.
And I don't know—if the ways in which I'm not, were things she could ever forgive, even if... she was under a lot of pressure, too. Maybe because of that.
...maybe she'd respect my being able to beat her in a fight, though. So maybe our families aren't that different, after all.
More like—she was expected to have children to continue on the family legacy and then basically just raised us with the same rigor as she had commanded troops in the military, but...

...at some point, I—forgot? I had a brother? And I don't mean... by coming here. I just—didn't remember him existing.
Mm. I mean... he really wasn't very brotherly at all, in what I remember. Maybe it's better if something happened to him, rather than him just being dead...?
But I suppose it also just—makes me really glad for the family I have now.

...you know, I don't know if I've really spoken with him, much. I wonder if I should.

But it does seem good for dad. Y'know, having someone drag things outta him.
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
You know, I raised the idea of what would happen if his own father showed up here and he said he'd kill him?

Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
He admires Sparda way too much. You-- y'know he styles himself after what his dad used t'dress like??
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
That's so cute.
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
The thing parents do t'us, huh?
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
I wonder... what my mother would think of me, now.
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
It seemed like she was always more interested in you being a mini-version of her, instead of your own achievements.

Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
In the end, every parent just wants their kid to succeed where they failed, right? Well... I think you've done plenty that she's never accomplished.
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
[ she snorts. ]
For one thing, I'm definitely better with kids. I'm not sure my mother really actually knew what to do with us.
[ though, at the end of it—she lifts her chin in a slightly thoughtful way. ]
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
What? You think... your mom was pressured into having kids?

Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
That does sound like something a weighty family name would expect outta you.
...Is that something the fair folk can do t'you? or some other creepy god, taking the memory of something?
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
[ like, that sounds bad, though??? that's bad ]
Re: Day 297 MONSTER BINGO
And besides, you remember him now, right? Pieces, anyway.
