[since Griffin's being a sad lump on the floor, Cobalt crouches to get a slightly better look, not getting too close.]

Wow... So this is what a griffin looks like in your neck of the woods, huh? They really are different...

[His ear swivels toward Cobalt when he approaches and his eyes follow him, but the griffin doesn't make any quick movements. His wings, under the jacket, ruffle and try to do some flaps - it's a half-hearted effort.

Then he nestles into the jacket some more and makes a sad awoo]

Okay... I'm going to take that as a yes.

[He reaches out and touches Griffin lightly on the back. Cloud Nine sweeps through him, muting all the bad feelings, replacing them with warm feeling of well-being that wasn't there before.]

I've been trying to teach myself how to cook, and I attempted teriyaki salmon today. It came out... pretty okay, I think! I had a lot of leftovers so I brought some in case you guys wanted some.

Sorry it's nothing special. It was just the first thing I thought of when I was leaving the dorm.

[Food in plastic box... the griffin nudges it with his snout while it's still in Cobalt's hands, curious and eager. Give food.]

Anyway, Cobalt's not the best chef in the world. The salmon is a little overdone, and has fallen apart into flaky chunks, slathered in teriyaki sauce. It certainly doesn't look amazing, but it tastes okay...?]

Wish I knew what exactly set him off. Even with the game making his temper worse, it's not like it just comes from nowhere.

AlcheME makes a potion that lets people speak when transformed. I told Griffin I'd bring him some, but I got distracted with the game and forgot until you texted me.

What do you think, Griffin? Wanna try?

[The griffin's ears perk up again, zoning in on the potion like it was another tasty snack. He licks his lips of the teriyaki sauce and sniffs at the vial.]

I had some for my last transformation and I found it very helpful, personally.

[he uncorks it and holds it out at an angle so Griffin can drink it.]

[The griffin immediately starts to lap up the potion, like guzzling from a feeder. It only lasts a second or two, and then he's sloppily licking his jaws.

In a voice that was... distinctly demonic - there was a hint of Griffin, but distorted, almost reverberating - it does speak.]

Taste ssstrange. More meat.
