[He raises his brow a little at the addendum, but doesn't linger on it. When Jason moves, he moves-- diving off right after him and kicking off the building itself to flip into the arc of a grappling hook swing]
[he waits until the absolute last moment, firing off his grappling hook, and letting the momentum carry him to the next roof.
He’s run this way far, far too many times.
Keep up griffin, as he launches himself towards the next building, grabbing a fire escape with just a hand and then swinging up, easily. He’s moving very fast.]
[There's basically no way he'd be able to win, considering this was his first time on this route. But the grappling claw was improving his performance significantly. Rather than going for a full swing, he'd use it to launch himself forward with the speed of his hook retraction, and release at peak acceleration to fly, flip, run and roll in straight lines across the rooftops.
It's a less acrobatic affair, but he's got strong bursts of speed - and he's not cheating with Stability to wall run, either. He's just That Cool.]
[he could... but Jason would just take it as a challenge!
Still, they’re getting off the beaten path. It’s taking more difficult jumps and creative climbing to get to the place Jay is trying to go.
Until he gets to the side of one building and then takes a leap, using his grappling hook to swing the momentum up to the first ledge to grab of this otherwise completely smooth building, that stands far above the rest. Getting up to the roof here? Hard.
[...Okay. He sees Jason make swing up there, and - without powers, it seems like the only way to reach it. That's fine. He can do whatever Jason can do.
Except-- the difference in weight makes his momentum ever so slightly slower when he swings. He lets go to grab the ledge and
His fingers catch, just the very tip - but barely for a second. They slip, and he starts to fall...
Griffin drops a foot before his metal claw digs into the building's flawlessly smooth surface. Oof. That was a close one.]
Re: 202
But it’s going to take more than luck to beat me.
[he considers.]
Maybe one day. Anyway, let’s go.
[and then he jumps]

And there’s a convenient sign for graffitiing.]
We’re here.

This wasn’t strictly a competition. He could help him, if he didn’t want to use stability.]
Need a hand?
Re: 202
[With a grunt, he hefts himself up to grab Jason's hand]
Re: 202
I told you— it’s hard to get up here.
Re: 202
Or I coulda just walked?
[He doesn't let go either.]
Re: 202
But you didn’t.
[another pause. And then he let’s go of his hand, turning to look at the billboard.]
Re: 202
Well... I'd hate to say I only made it here the easy way.
Re: 202
[he will just watch him for a moment.]
Re: 202
...You think 'rent a bat' will fit on that billboard?
Re: 202
— You wouldn’t.
Re: 202
Me? Never.
It'd be rent a bird now, anyway.
Re: 202
[this feels not true, but also Roy's important so he gets to say it anyway]
Don't be like Roy.
Re: 202
I distinctly remember you calling him a genius?

[Seems fake]
Re: 202
[he is a man with no weaknesses, after all. Even with all this shameless flirting happening.]
